Suddenly, we’re in June. Oh so suddenly. So suddenly, in fact, that we’re well into the swing of festival season and I hadn’t even really had the chance to appreciate it.
Until now. Because this time next week, I shall be stomping the fields of Raehills Meadows in Moffat, Dumfries, at what is quite possibly my favourite event of the year; Eden festival.
Last year I wrote about how much of an amazing time i had there; a beautiful gathering of relaxed, like-minded people simply enjoying life in the surreal world of trippy dance tents, baths sunk into the floor, beautiful hand-crafted decorations, amazing artwork and a line-up more impressive than I would ever have expected of a small Scottish festival.
But this year, somehow, Eden has taken it a step further. Securing musical legends such as The Cat Empire, Grandmaster Flash and Ms Dynamite as headliners, as well as inviting along some of my personal favourites such as Submotion Orchestra, Mungo’s Hifi and Aphrodite, the line-up is bloody gobsmacking – and that’s just the main stage. All of the best loved tents, such as the Vishnu Lounge and Furry Chillumn tent, are returning for another glorious year.
And as if we weren’t convinced already, this year the Eden organisers have added a hint of luxury. They’re teaming up with Tents & Tubs to offer exclusive accommodation in fully-kitted bell tents and summerhouses, as well as letting you and your mates relax in a warm bubbly hot tub with champagne. And finally, for those concerned with fuelling themselves properly for all the frolicking, The Boathouse Banquet shall be occuring at Eden for the first time this year – a beautiful riverside, candlelit experience with a menu featuring dishes such as wood pidgeon, barley, beetroot, kale & black berries and white chocolate, parma violet, raspberry & meadow sweet, as well as vegetarian and vegan options available throughout.
Working in collaboration with Eden festival, I was able to run a competitoon through my radio show on Radio Caley to give away a pair of tickets to Eden. I’m so excited that the winner, Lucy, will be able to experience the beauty of Eden for the first time. Lucy said:
“I honestly can’t believe I won! I’ve never entered a competition before and I was looking at the Eden line up recently and couldn’t get over how amazing it is, so I’m over the moon. Anyone I know that’s been has it’s incredible, so I can’t wait to be there. Thanks so much to Eden festival and Radio Caley.”
Tickets for the festival itself are nearly sold out, but there’s a handful left at £99 so if you fancy a last minute adventure, get booking them here. All information on the luxury accommodation and Boathouse banquet can be found on the Tents & Tubs website, and full festival line-up and travel information can be found on the Eden Festival website.
